The images compared show a detail of the face before blepharoplasty. The image on the left denotes a swelling of the zone beneath the eye (the so-called eye bags) and receding cheekbones.
The images show a detail of the eye zone before and after blepharoplasty.
The patient, before the intervention, had bags below the lower lids and a drooping at the cheekbone area. Through blepharoplasty a small amount of fat was removed from the eyelid bags.
The intervention entailed a delicate draining out of the orbicularis muscle of the cheekbone region which was then attached to the periosteum tissue of the superomedial orbital branch. The cheekbone was thus raised and gave a sort of lifting effect to the third quadrant of the face.
